A Thank You to Our Nurses: National Nurses Week

The month of May marks National Nurses Week, a time when we take a moment to recognize and appreciate the incredible contributions of nurses to our healthcare system. Nurses are the backbone of our medical community, providing essential care to patients in a variety of settings.

In 1982, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed May 6 as National Recognition Day for Nurses, stating that nurses "deserve our gratitude for their personal and professional contributions to the improved health of American citizens." At BHG, we echo this sentiment and want to take a moment to express our heartfelt appreciation to all of our nurse team members for your dedication and hard work.

The American Nurses Association tells us that National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, which is Florence Nightingale's birthday. Florence Nightingale was a British nurse, social reformer, and statistician, but more importantly, she was the founder of modern nursing and worked on the front lines during the Crimean War to save lives.

At BHG, our nurses work on the front lines every day, providing lifesaving care to our patients. We are grateful for your compassion, empathy, and expertise. You demonstrate our values of Hope, Respect, and Caring daily, empowering our patients to realize their best level of functioning in the community.

BHG wants to thank each and every one of our nurse team members for your commitment to our patients. Your dedication to the noble profession of nursing makes us better at what we do, and we are grateful to have you as part of the BHG team.
