Benefits of IOP for Addiction Recovery
Research shows IOP can be just as effective as inpatient or residential programs for most people. IOP helps by:
Reducing symptoms of substance use disorder
Lowering relapse risk
Providing structure and support
What to Expect in Our IOP
Patients will come to group and individual therapy multiple times each week.
- 9+ hours each week (typically three, 3-hour sessions)
- Group and one-on-one counseling to stay engaged and build new skills
- The program usually lasts at least 12 weeks; the care team checks in often and adjusts the treatment plan if needed
- Offered in both in-person and telehealth formats (based on availability) to support patients’ schedules
Each IOP plan is customized to every individual’s needs and may include:
- Group Counseling – The core of IOP, where patients learn together, share experiences and build recovery skills.
- Individual Counseling – Private sessions to work on personal challenges.
- Case Management – Help accessing resources such as medical care, housing or employment. See how our recovery support services can assist beyond treatment sessions.
- Family Services – Education and counseling to help loved one’s support recovery
